Group exhibition and performance event

June 12 - September 5, 2015
Prelude Her Patron was a VIP opening event within the exhibition How to Remain Human. The event likened a museum patron preview party to a poorly run S&M playhouse. Prelude Her Patron sampled various kinds of support and exchange that occur between artists, higher education, and museums that often become exploits.
The night held performances by ‘subs’ - CMU MFA students. General Sisters performed Nyotaimori (body sushi). L’AMOUR BLEU performed live music and sex acts. Paul Heyer served silent death rings on the dance floor. Curator and Associate Professor Melissa Ragona delivered Dom. I gave my resignation, as visiting professor at Carnegie Mellon University, in real time to the department chair who was in attendance. The evening examined the ways in which artists were bound by their support structures.
Digital prints were exhibited in the gallery showcasing images of bondage with text. Prelude Her Patron, an event poster was sold in the gift shop. Dom Dialogues, letterpress napkins printed with Tip Type Press; and Bored Phallic Class lip gloss were takeaways for the guests.
